Key Responsibilities- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtains, monitors, and interprets physiological data; intervenes as necessary based on patient condition changes
- Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
- Delegates tasks to support staff and oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers
Required Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, required upon hire
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques effectively
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program
- Ability to function independently in an IR/Special Procedures specialty area following completion of orientation
