RN – Interventional Radiology / Catheterization Laboratory

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 0.9 FTE | Four 9-hour shifts per week, 0730–1700 | On-call rotation required (one night per week and every 4th weekend – Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with a 30-minute response time | Mondays designated as weekday call night with Tuesdays off

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessment and continuous monitoring before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures and peripheral arteriograms
  • Administer medications, including moderate sedation, per physician orders and established policy
  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, structural heart, and other invasive cardiovascular and peripheral procedures utilizing sterile technique
  • Monitor cardiac rhythm, hemodynamic status, and patient response throughout procedures and recovery; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, arrhythmias, or procedural complications
  • Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, medications, procedural events, and patient responses; provide patient and family education related to procedures, recovery, and discharge
  • Participate in Cath Lab on-call rotation for emergent STEMI and urgent cardiovascular and peripheral procedures, responding and reporting to the facility within 30 minutes of callback
Required Qualifications
  • Active Kansas RN license or multistate compact license required at time of submission – no pending licenses accepted; no license history issues permitted
  • Current AHA BLS certification required at time of submission – no pending certifications accepted
  • Recent Cath Lab experience within the last year is required
  • Demonstrated experience with STEMI, PCI, Impella, and IABP procedures
  • Experience with peripheral angiogram and peripheral intervention procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with GE MacLab for procedural documentation
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records for charting
  • Background in precepting or mentoring staff and students in a clinical setting
