Job Summary:
The post-partum nurse position located in Honolulu, Hawaii, involves providing specialized care on the postpartum floor. This role requires delivering maternal and newborn care, supporting post-operative bladder training, and assisting with maternal-newborn teaching. The position is designed for experienced professionals committed to high-quality patient support in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state where care is provided
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
- Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
- Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
- Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
- Ability to perform urine point of care testing
- Knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
- Familiarity with IStat device
- Ability to perform adult cardiac monitoring
- Knowledge of neonatal monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
- Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
- Knowledge of newborn medication administration, including IV maintenance and administration
- Knowledge of Bili-blankets, Bili-lights, and radiant warmers
- Support maternal-newborn and postpartum teaching, including postpartum bladder training
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of postpartum experience
- Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
