Job Summary: Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in the Labor and Delivery department in the healthcare industry. This role involves providing comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including managing labor, delivery, and recovery processes. The position requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic clinical environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), relevant nursing licensure, and a minimum of one year of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery or related maternal health unit. Experience with labor management, circulating cesarean sections, and adherence to AWHONN guidelines is essential. Location requirements as per licensure and clinical credentials are expected.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience managing Pitocin, C-section delivery, and recovery procedures in a maternal health setting. Knowledge of GE fetal monitoring, EMR systems such as CPN Meditech, and on-call schedule flexibility are advantageous.
Float: Float to mother-baby unit may be required as a resource during busy periods, but focused care on labor and delivery is prioritized.
Additional Information: This role involves managing a high-volume unit with a team of 54 staff members, including nurses, OB technicians, and healthcare support staff. The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and adherence to patient safety guidelines. The position is for one full-time nurse supporting vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and triage procedures.
