Job Summary Labor And Delivery Nurse (L&D) specialty Days shift positioned in a healthcare facility with a 15-bed unit. This role involves providing high-quality obstetric care, managing antepartum and labor and delivery patients, and utilizing external fetal monitoring. Candidates with prior charge experience and relevant certifications are preferred to support a dynamic clinical environment. The role offers flexibility with options of 36 or 48-hour shifts, including weekend requirements.
Job Details
Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP (pending certifications acceptable); 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing; experience with antepartum and vaginal deliveries; proficiency with external fetal monitoring (EFM); familiarity with managing central lines (CVC/PICC), insulin drips, and isolation precautions; valid license prior to start date.
Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, start date 10/12/2026, end date 01/11/2027.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, experience in high-volume labor units (100-200 births/month).
Staffing & Scheduling: 2 patients per day, 2 at night, 2 on weekends; 4-6 weekend shifts per six-week cycle; floating to similar units within scope as needed with brief orientation; required to go in for labs within 48 business hours of contract start.
Additional Information: The nurse will support neonatal, adult, and interdisciplinary teams, and perform specialized procedures like C-section circling and sterile vaginal exams. All modules are completed onsite during orientation, recorded via transcripts, and are non-billable hours.
