Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Partum care is sought for a facility located in Boise, Idaho. The role involves providing postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns in a busy mother-baby unit. The position offers a day shift schedule, with a focus on patient education, monitoring postpartum patients, and supporting maternal and neonatal health in a collaborative environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Boise, Idaho
- Position: Post Partum Floor RN
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), weekends as needed, first to float to neighboring hospitals
- Schedule: 36 hours per week starting 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE Certification; 2 years of experience in a similar postpartum setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with magnesium administration and higher-risk maternal patients.
- Patient Care Responsibilities: Management of postpartum patients including magnesium drips, maternal monitoring, and newborn care; no GYN surgical patients beyond tubals; handling of twins, well babies, and circumcisions.
- Patient Ratios: Goal of 3 couples per nurse (1:6 ratio), with rare occasions of 4 couples or twins for odd ratios.
- Staffing and Support: CNA and unit clerk/health unit coordinator on the unit; discharge nurses, lactation consultants, contracted staff for screenings and safety checks; neonatologist and hospitalist available 24/7 for emergencies; in-house anesthesia at all times.

- Additional Notes: The unit maintains a locked postpartum environment; float to Meridian and Nampa hospitals; orientation includes sitting and floating responsibilities; standard dress code with clean, comfortable scrubs.
