Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Kansas City, Missouri. The position involves providing comprehensive obstetric care within a community hospital setting, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal services. The role requires flexibility to float within scope to meet department needs and deliver high-quality patient care during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/08/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri RN license, 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, community hospital experience preferred, BLS (Basic Life Support), FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring certification), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications, experience with high-risk deliveries, assist with C-sections, and perform obstetric and neonatal procedures.
- Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Advanced (preferred), AWHONN Intermediate (preferred).
- Work Settings: Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, Level I Nursery.
- Additional Responsibilities: Management of labor processes, neonatal care including APGAR scoring and resuscitation, postpartum procedures such as lactation support, and labor management including assisting with vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
- On-Call Requirement: Yes; two mandatory on-call shifts every 6-week schedule period.
- Float: RN may be expected to float within scope to any patient assignment within the LDRP unit and between departments or facilities as needed.
- Other Details: No more than 7 days of RTO allowed at the time of offer; compliance documentation due two Fridays before start date; completion of EPIC training modules required prior to start.
