Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in Shelby, North Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including managing labor, postpartum, and neonatal care. The position requires adaptability to float within designated regions and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support patient needs effectively.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, scheduled to start on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure in nursing, BLS, ACLS, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery with the ability to work in the Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-operative and PACU skills, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin and epidural management.
- Patient Types and Ratios: Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care with ratios following AWHONN Staffing Guidelines1:2 in inactive labor, 1:1 in active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets; one Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) per shift.
- Additional Information: The unit is equipped with fetal monitors, ultrasound, scales, and hospital-issued scrub uniforms (green). Orientation includes two days dedicated to the Neonatal Emergency Operating (NEO) protocol and departmental procedures. The facility emphasizes teamwork and supports floating within region 3, including facilities in Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and the central division.
- Other Details: Parking is free. There may be opportunities for low census call, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays with up to 6 days of RTO approval (excluding holidays).
