Travel Labor & Delivery RN opportunity in Charlottesville, VA. Join a high-acuity women’s services team and provide expert maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital setting. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced L&D Registered Nurse who thrives in labor and delivery, fetal monitoring, and high-risk obstetric care.

• Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shifts Per Week: Typically 3
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
• Orientation: 36 hours, including specialty-specific training
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
• Setting Highlights: High-volume Labor & Delivery and women’s health unit with support for low-risk and high-risk obstetrical patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; pending state license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring and obstetrical nursing care
• Ability to float within scope to Mother/Baby and NICU feeder/grower assignments as needed
• BSN preferred
• References required
• Travel nurses must meet all compliance requirements for submission

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetrical patients
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Circulate for Cesarean sections and assist with OB PACU care
• Support triage, cerclage, bilateral tubal ligation, and fetal transfusion procedures
• Care for a diverse patient population, including low-risk and high-risk maternal patients
• Cross-train and float to Mother/Baby and NICU feeder/grower assignments when needed
• Administer medications, start and maintain IVs, and document care accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support excellent outcomes for mothers and newborns
