EssentialJob Functions JobExpectations and Responsibilities: 4. Assesses, plans, implementsand evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process. Provides quality care based on assessmentneeds and established plan of care/pathway. Provides education for the patient andfamily/significant other from admission through discharge process. Provides thorough, concise, accurate andlegible documentation of the nursing process/pathway. Notifies physician of pertinentobservations and changes in the status of the patient. Administers medications and performs treatmentsin an accurate safe manner. Implements physician orders as written. Assures equipment and supplies are readilyavailable for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.Physical Capacity DemandHeavy Work: Exerting50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess ofthose for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
