Job Summary Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in the Labor and Delivery department in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring safety and comfort for both mother and newborn. The position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped unit with experienced staff and modern technology, supporting shared decision-making and patient-centered care.
Job Details
Schedule: Days shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license, AWHONN Intermediate certification (not advanced), or Certification in Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (CEFM); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); at least 2 years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience; location in Nashville, Tennessee.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with labor and delivery procedures such as vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor; proficiency in documentation systems such as CPN and Meditach.
Additional Information: The position requires caring for laboring patients, immediate postpartum newborn care, circulating and recovery procedures for cesarean section patients, and handling critical labor scenarios. Unit policies emphasize shared decision-making, and staffing includes RNs, a unit secretary, and OR technicians. The unit may require floating to other departments as needed, with travelers floating first.
