Job Summary Postpartum (L&D PP) Nurse Night Shift (Location unspecified) This role involves providing specialized postpartum care within the labor and delivery unit, focusing on patient recovery and newborn transition after delivery. The nurse will be responsible for managing high-risk obstetric cases, including hypertensive disorders, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, and postpartum complications, ensuring safe and compassionate patient care.

Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); minimum two years of experience in a postpartum or obstetric care setting
Schedule: Nights, weekends as needed, with holiday requirements, and call or standby shifts; floating to labor and delivery for normal newborn transition may be required
Additional Information:
Unit handles antepartum and high-risk obstetric beds, postpartum, and triage services.
Patients typically present with pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, AMA, and substance use disorders.
Must have skills in newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management.
Certifications required include BLS and NRP.
Experience with titrating drips and use of RT equipment such as vents and BiPaps in NICU is preferred.
The unit operates a Centricity Perinatal Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring system.
The hospital has 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist and advanced practice provider coverage, as well as NICU specialists.
