Job Summary: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) The organization is seeking a qualified RN with experience in a perioperative or maternity setting to join the team for a temporary assignment. The RN will practice independently, providing routine and complex care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on patient safety, education, and clinical management. This role requires strong assessment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); RN License in the state of Texas or a compact licensure; Current certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) in Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA; Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; 1 year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery or a related perinatal setting is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a perioperative or maternity healthcare setting is advantageous.
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of treatments; document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care activities; educate patients, families, and caregivers; address complex physical, emotional, and social needs of patients; collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend a New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire; precepted by designated trained staff; complete organizational entry competency validations and department-specific trainings; meet annual competency requirements.
