Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and other assessment tools
Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections in collaboration with the obstetric care team
Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin per physician orders and established protocols
Educate patients and families on labor progression, delivery expectations, and postpartum care

Required Qualifications

Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa or compact licensure eligibility
Current BLS certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Prior clinical experience in Labor and Delivery

Preferred Experience / Skills

ACLS and/or AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
Experience with high-risk obstetric patients
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems in a labor and delivery setting
