Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in the department specializing in obstetrical care. This role involves providing comprehensive care for laboring and postpartum patients, supporting delivery processes, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with floating and call responsibilities, maintaining high standards of patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., every other weekend, floating and call required, with 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent, two or more years of experience in labor and delivery, at least two completed travel assignments in labor and delivery, Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, ability to pass an electrocardiogram (EKG), proficiency with Cerner and CPN (GE) electronic medical records, and current certification in neonatal care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner and CPN (GE), CertifiedPerinatal Nurse (CPN).
- Additional Information: Monitor and assist laboring patients, communicate with healthcare providers, circulate in operating rooms for cesarean sections, support newborn resuscitation, recover from vaginal and cesarean deliveries, provide antepartum care in Labor and Delivery, and work with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 as per AWHONN Staffing Standards. The unit contains 13 beds (8 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum beds and 5 Triage beds). The RN is accountable for providing care throughout all phases of obstetrical care, demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership. Scrub color is navy blue, and EMR system used includes Cerner and CPN (GE). No maximum remaining time off is set as long as weekend call requirements are met.
