Travel RN Job Details

• Weekend Requirement: At least one to two weekends per month
• Holiday Requirement: No holidays
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3, with variation based on unit needs
• Interview Process: Virtual interview

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery or maternity nursing experience
• Experience providing postpartum, newborn, and antepartum care
• Antepartum monitoring experience
• Fetal monitoring experience; certification is not required
• Experience caring for mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process
• Ability to float to Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); experience in both areas is required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient education skills

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments, including fetal monitoring and interpretation within the scope of practice
• Support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
• Provide routine and specialized newborn care, including assessments, education, and monitoring
• Recognize changes in maternal or neonatal condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate providers
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to coordinate individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about recovery, newborn care, feeding, safety, and discharge preparation
• Float to Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as assigned
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination activities
• Promote patient safety, cultural sensitivity, emotional support, and positive birth experiences
