Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery specialty position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level IV womens and infants hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing labor, delivery, and high-risk obstetric patients, adhering to established guidelines, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, at least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery, advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, familiarity with magnesium, insulin drips, and advanced external fetal monitoring. Must be able to work in an active labor environment and be committed to the assigned schedule.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level IV womens and infants hospital setting, previous float experience to related units, and proficiency in adhering to AWHONN (Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines.
• Additional Information: The role requires orientation to two shifts and active participation in holiday and weekend rotations. The position involves serving as a charge nurse in both labor and delivery and high-risk units, as well as providing baby nursing for deliveries. Flexibility to float to a nearby hospital may be required if needed. Candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to reliability and teamwork.
