Job Summary: The labor and delivery (L&D) registered nurse position is based in a healthcare facility located in WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to adolescent and adult female patients, neonates, and during cesarean sections within a Level 2 nursery setting. The nurse will deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the health care team, ensuring adherence to established clinical standards and guidelines.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Basic and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring. Experience in Epic electronic medical record system required.
Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification (not required but preferred).
Float: Float rotation may be required due to unit staffing needs.
Additional Information: The role involves delivering care in a labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, nursery, and neonatal intensive care unit. Nurses may assist with cesarean sections, responsible only for the baby, without scrubbing in on surgeries. The unit includes 12 labor, delivery, postpartum rooms; 3 triage beds; 16 nursery beds; and 3 NICU beds. Staff may be scheduled to assist in pediatric or acute care areas during low census periods, but will not serve as primary nurse in those units.
