- Duration: 26 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 4x12s with weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110 - $2,220
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required to postpartum, antepartum, and between nearby campuses as needed
- Unit Type: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred; high-acuity/high-volume experience is required
- At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Current compact or Washington state RN license in hand at submission
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Experience with Epic electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-risk obstetric environment
- Must have current newborn care skills, including assessments and Vitamin K administration
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- Must provide supervisory references and required certifications with submission
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and high-volume cases
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate for C-sections and support surgical obstetric deliveries
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and immediate post-delivery care
- Administer medications and therapies commonly used in obstetric nursing, including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips
- Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and postpartum recovery
- Assist with fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Float to postpartum and antepartum units when needed to support patient care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the multidisciplinary women’s health team to provide safe, compassionate care
