Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available in a healthcare facility located in Garden City, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized care to obstetric patients across various stages of labor, delivery, postpartum, and related units. The position requires flexible coverage for nights and may include float responsibilities across different departments to meet operational needs.
Job Details:

- Required Qualifications:
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
- Experience or skills in labor, delivery, and postpartum care; couplet care; circulating in operating room; fetal monitoring; titrating pitocin drips (minimum 2 years of experience)
- Active licensure to practice as a registered nurse
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience following Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines for patient ratios
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) systems such as GE and OBIX
- Additional Information:
- Candidate will float between labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery units
- The unit operates with a trauma level 3 care setting in an acute division
- Unit is equipped with OB/Neonatologist in-house 24/7; anesthesia not in-house
- Charting performed on EPIC electronic health record system
- The hospital has a policy allowing cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
- The unit follows a policy which includes call or standby requirements and a specific dress code with professional colors
- Self-scheduling and group shift arrangements are permitted after initial shift coverage
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in labor and delivery is required
