Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
Shift: Days or Nights (Based on Scheduling Needs)
Employment Type: 13 Weeks Contract
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment techniques.
- Perform fetal monitoring and recognize changes requiring intervention.
- Assist with deliveries and provide immediate newborn care as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and healthcare teams to ensure safe patient outcomes.
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth experience.
- Maintain accurate documentation according to facility standards.
- Work independently and effectively manage patient care when serving as the only L&D nurse on duty.
- Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Labor & Delivery nursing experience required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work independently in an L&D setting.
