Job Summary: Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in Alaska. This position involves providing specialized care in a level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a focus on labor, delivery, and postpartum services. The role includes managing various obstetric procedures, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 10/12/2026 to 01/11/2027.
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, at least 1 year of labor and delivery experience, and valid certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IUPC/FSE placement, assisting with JADA/COOKS/BAKRI placement, and proficiency in procedures such as induction of labor, vaginal delivery, C-sections, tubal ligation, D&C, vaginal repair, NST, IUFD, steroid injections (BMZ), external cephalic version.
Additional Information: Candidate must be a team player, driven, flexible, honest, and accountable. The unit requires adherence to specified dress code (royal blue scrubs provided) and follows unit policies and guidelines. The unit is equipped with GE and Centricity Perinatal EMR (EPICT). The role may require floating to Patient Care Technician (PCT) duties during times of low census. Weekend and on-call shifts are scheduled as needed to meet unit needs; call is optional but available.
