Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse position located in an acute care setting. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a maternity unit dedicated to labor, postpartum, and neonatal services. The L&D nurse will support all phases of labor and delivery, including triage, postpartum, and neonatal care, with a focus on ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licenses to submit, at least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Fetal Monitoring as per American Heart Association (AHA) and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) standards.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a busy labor and postpartum environment, familiarity with electronic charting systems such as EPIC, and ability to read telemetry strips.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit features 12 labor and postpartum beds, 1 triage bed, and 1 postpartum bed, with an average of 70 births per month. The facility operates with in-house neonatologists and supports all phases of labor for patients in a Life Delivery and Recovery Patient (LDRP) unit. Staffing includes charge nurses and house supervisors, with on-call shifts required. Telemonitoring equipment is in place for fetal and neonatal monitoring, and the unit allows self-scheduling within operational needs. Orientation is provided, and cancellations are permissible up to four shifts within a 13-week assignment.
