Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide exceptional nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum process. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering safe, patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
Assist physicians during labor, delivery, emergency procedures, and other obstetric interventions.
Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and maternal responses, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge planning.
Coordinate patient care with physicians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and other healthcare professionals.
Delegate appropriate patient care responsibilities to support staff while ensuring quality and patient safety.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate Compact RN License (eNLC).
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor certification.
Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, fetal monitoring, maternal assessment, and emergency response.
Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to provide compassionate, family-centered care in a high-acuity clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Schedule
13-week contract
36 hours per week
Three 12-hour night shifts
Additional Information
Candidates must have recent Labor & Delivery experience and previous travel nursing experience.
