Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Clearlake, California
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery department, supporting women through childbirth and postpartum recovery, and ensuring the wellbeing of mother and infant. The role requires coordinating care with the healthcare team to deliver safe and compassionate patient care across various age groups from infants to geriatrics.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, primarily night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Required Qualifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California; one year of labor and delivery experience, nursery experience (any level), and postpartum experience preferred; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and hospital conscious sedation within six months of employment; certification in Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) within six months of hire and recertified every two years; mandatory initial certification within six months for ACLS & STABLE, with recertification every two years.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with newborn stabilization skills and familiarity with the PALS certification.
• Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for accurately charging for patient care and supplies, administering medications and IV fluids according to policies, and performing assessments and documentation appropriate for neonatal and maternal care. Emergency handling, effective communication, and patient education are essential. The physical demands include frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and transferring patients, with a capability for pull lifts up to 50 pounds. The work environment involves potential exposure to blood and body fluids, requiring protective measures.
