Job Summary Labor and Delivery Nurse, specializing in high-risk obstetric care, is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum in a hospital setting. The role requires expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies, newborn care, and operating in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and patient support.
Job Details
Position includes high-risk labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum, triage, circulating in the operating room, newborn/infant care, and utilizing Epic electronic medical records.
Education: Valid licensure with an active California State License.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Labor and Delivery with a minimum of 150 births per month, with experience in high-risk obstetrics preferred.
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, requiring 36 hours per week, with every other weekend expected.
Preferred qualifications include charge experience, community hospital experience, and familiarity with charting system Epic.
Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, administration of blood products, fetal monitoring, neonatal assessments, and postpartum care.
Additional responsibilities include patient education, assisting with procedures such as amniocentesis, cesarean sections, and providing breastfeeding support.
Must be willing to float to postpartum if needed.
