Job Summary: Postpartum Floor Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced environment, supporting gyn teaching, post-operative bladder training, and maternal-newborn education. The position requires compassionate and skilled nursing professionals dedicated to supporting mothers and infants through the postpartum period.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications:
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a related role
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills, and lab draws
Knowledge of high-risk medication administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin
Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
Knowledge of IStat and adult cardiac monitoring
Familiarity with newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
Skilled in heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
Knowledge of newborn medications including IV administration and maintenance
Experience with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
Ability to support gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training
Ability to support maternal-newborn teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience
Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
