Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and NRP/FHM certification at a Level III trauma center.

Details

• Work in the Women's Health and OB Services unit with 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
• Level III Trauma Center with 64 beds
• Patient population includes L&D patients over 35 weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum cases
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:3 for couplets/antepartum/surgical patients
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Every other weekend rotation required
• On-call requirements vary based on contract
• Floating required to inpatient units in a sitter or CNA role
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Experience with NSTs, patient triage, postpartum and newborn assessments/care, and nursery care required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Candidate's middle name/initial, date of birth, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• At least one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

Additional Information

• Support structure includes Charge RN, Resource RN, and RRT, with FHM monitored at bedside and nurse's station (no telemetry)
• OB MD has a 30-minute call-back time
• Orientation includes facility NEO and at least one shift to learn unit flow
• RTO approval available for up to 7 days
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
