Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position involves providing specialized care to laboring, pre-term, postpartum obstetric patients, and newborns within an acute care setting. The role includes performing vaginal and cesarean deliveries, fetal monitor interpretation, and neonatal resuscitation, utilizing equipment such as the GE Corometric fetal monitor and Hospira IV pumps. The position offers a night shift schedule with a commitment of minimum 36 hours per week, starting on August 24, 2026.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Indiana RN license, ACLS certification (American Heart Association), BLS certification (American Heart Association), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, minimum of 2 years experience in Labor & Delivery, cervical exams, and fetal monitor interpretation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting systems such as EPIC, use of Pyxis medication management, and familiarity with Hospira IV pumps.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other units/departments.
  • Additional Information: Orientation scheduled Monday through Friday during the first week, and Monday-Tuesday of the second week; mandatory attendance for all eight days. The department utilizes EPIC documentation and follows a 7pm-7am shift. No specific bed count or nurse-to-patient ratio information available. Dress code is Caribbean blue scrubs.
