Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Clearlake, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care in a Labor and Delivery department within a healthcare organization. The role involves supervising and coordinating care for women from childbearing through geriatric years, as well as infants up to 28 days of life. This exempt position requires a committed healthcare professional ready to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, typically nights, with an expectation of 36 to 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California. Experience of at least one year in labor and delivery, nursery (any level), and postpartum. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Basic computer skills. Certification in Fetal Monitoring by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) must be obtained within six months of employment and recertified every two years. Experience with stabilization skills for newborns is strongly recommended.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and STABLE certification are preferred. Familiarity with emergency response techniques and high-risk obstetric care is advantageous.
- Additional Information: All candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform frequent physical activities, including bending, squatting, kneeling, and patient transfers. Protective measures should be used during procedures involving potential exposure to blood and body fluids. The role requires effective communication with the healthcare team, proper documentation, and delivering patient education.
