Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse position located in Tracy, California. This role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, with a focus on maternal and fetal well-being. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing various clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring skills. Candidate must be comfortable with caring for delivered mothers and newborns.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Labor and Delivery or maternity units, experience with charting systems, and trauma level experience are a plus.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include administering blood and blood products, assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, managing epidural anesthesia, fetal monitoring using external devices, and providing postpartum care. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and interpretation services.
- Clinical Competencies: Proficiency in using infusion pumps, IV monitoring, sterile procedures, and obstetrical triage is required. Candidates must upload valid certifications, including AHA or ARC, and Nursys licensure documentation within the last two weeks. Two references obtained within the past year are required. Candidates need to have a minimum of 2 years of experience, and all onboarding labs must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing.
- Other Requirements: No separation time required for returning staff/travelers. Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with designated holidays. All compliance documents are due 10 days prior to the start date.
