LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Fairfield, California.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients based on individual physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient conditions, medications, equipment, and treatments to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment, health needs, and post-discharge care.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and other members of the care team.
  • Delegate and supervise tasks according to staff competency and scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure safe patient handoffs.
  • Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decisions.
  • Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
  • Contribute to patient satisfaction and assist with complaint resolution when needed.
  • Float to sister facilities or other departments as requested and qualified.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience required.
  • Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN accepted.
  • Active California RN License required.
  • AHA BLS required.
  • ACLS required.
  • NRP required.
  • Strong communication, documentation, critical thinking, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
