Job Summary: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a hospital setting responsible for providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The position involves cross-training and rotating among three perinatal units, requiring flexibility and extensive knowledge in neonatal and maternal care. The role ensures high-quality patient outcomes in a busy, high-risk environment with a focus on safety and family support.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Active California state license, 2 years of combined labor and delivery (L&D) and postpartum experience, and certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced*, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP, and BSN*.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting in Epic system, charge nurse background, and previous community hospital experience.
Float: Float rotation may be required among all three perinatal units, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Hillcrest Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP).
Additional Information:
Start date is 10/05/2026, with the assignment ending on 01/04/2027.
Assignments are biweekly, with scheduling rules requiring availability for one additional overtime shift biweekly based on unit needs.
The unit contains private labor and delivery rooms, OR suites, postpartum rooms, antepartum beds, triage rooms, and neonatal nursery.
Candidates must be willing to float to postpartum and Hillcrest LDRP units as required.
Must have active CA license, and references from previous managers are required.
No RTO in the first 2 weeks; up to 7 days of requested RTO are permitted with appropriate documentation.
Completion of required modules during orientation and annually is mandatory.
