Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department position in Glendale, California. This role involves providing specialized care in a busy obstetric unit with a focus on high-risk and normal deliveries. The unit supports approximately 130 births per month and requires experienced professionals to ensure quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications including BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM). Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk pregnancies, NICU background for feeder/grower roles, and C-section experience in scrub, recovery, and circulating positions.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit features 10 labor and delivery beds, with 2 operating rooms dedicated to labor and delivery triage.
  • Nurse charge coverage and shared staffing model.
  • Fetal monitoring using Obix system; EMR through Cerner.
  • No on-call requirements; holiday staffing includes 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
  • Floor-specific orientation involves three shifts.
  • Care scope includes deliveries down to 23 weeks, including some high-risk cases such as antepartum and hypertensive disorders, with support from perinatology.
  • No in-house OB or neonatologist currently available; hospital working towards it.
  • No vent support, and no designated RT or pharmacy 24/7.
