Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Glendale, California. This position involves providing specialized care in a designated Labor and Delivery department with a focus on managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies. The role requires delivering comprehensive patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, supporting a busy unit with a variety of patient needs.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) from AWHONN, and ACLS. A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk pregnancies, NICU background for feeder/grower, and familiarity with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Charge Nurse: Shared responsibility between Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units.
- Equipment & Systems: Obix fetal monitoring system; Cerner EMR system.
- Patient Care: Management of deliveries down to 23 weeks gestation, including high-risk cases such as hypertension and cardiac abnormalities.
- Additional Job Information: Team supports include OB techs and scrub techs in Labor and Delivery. On-call not required. L&D is identified as the primary staffing need, with a focus on managing complex deliveries.
- Certification Requirement: Must hold ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificates.
- Orientation: 3 shifts of floor-specific training.
- Facility Details: Located in Glendale, California, with access to obstetric and neonatal specialists as needed.
