Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Santa Maria, California. This role involves caring for patients across all gestational ages, including antepartum, high-risk deliveries, and substance abuse cases. The position requires circulating for Cesarean sections, with scrubbing experience preferred. The shift operates on 12-hour daytime or nighttime schedules.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with weekends every other week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); COVID vaccination; a minimum of 2 years of experience; active license to submit; experience circulating for Cesarean sections; required to float to postpartum; orientation of 3 shifts.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Scrubbing experience is preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to postpartum.
  • Additional Information: Unit has 14 beds, including triage beds, with a capacity of approximately 250 births per year. The unit uses the Cerner charting system and Fetal Link electronic fetal heart monitoring system. Shift requirements include working holidays via staff rotation. Nurses wear navy scrubs for postpartum and seal blue for labor and delivery. No in-house OB/Neonatologist, but available if needed. Staffing includes OB technicians during day and night shifts, and charge nurses do not typically take patient assignments.
