Job Summary Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Alaska. This position involves providing specialized care in the labor and delivery unit of a healthcare facility, supporting obstetric, neonatal, and antepartum services. The role requires delivering patient-centered care in a dynamic environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns.
Job Details
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, 1 year labor and delivery (L&D) experience, candidates without these skills will not be considered
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IUPC/FSE placement, assistance with JADA/COOKS/BAKRI placement, and skills in procedures such as induction of labor, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, tubal ligation, labor triage, antepartum care, D&C, vaginal repair, NST, IUFD, steroid injections (BMZ), and external cephalic version are advantageous
Responsibilities: Manage labor triage, support vaginal and c-section deliveries, assist with neonatal resuscitation, and ensure compliance with unit policies and guidelines
Additional Information: The unit is a Level 2 neonatal intensive care unit with 7 beds, staffed by a team of 3 minimum per shift, following AWHONN acuity staffing ratios. May float to patient care tech duties as needed when census is low. No call required, but availability preferred for on-call coverage as needed.
