Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Bemidji, Minnesota. This role involves providing specialized care for postpartum, antepartum, newborns, and gynecological patients within an acute care setting. The position offers a rotating twelve-hour shift schedule, including weekends, with opportunities to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed.
Job Details:
- Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
- Shift: Rotating twelve-hour shifts, including day and night rotations, every third weekend
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Minnesota state Registered Nurse (RN) license (considering temporary license with potential extension), 2 years OB/L&D experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Perinatal Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Additional Information:
- Must have experience working in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units
- Able to work in Labor and Postpartum units, with float to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units as needed
- Experience with electronic medical records using EPIC and other equipment including Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, and Medfusion Pumps
- The unit averages five mother/baby couplets, two pediatric patients, one GYN patient, two labor patients, and four Special Care Nursery (SCN) patients daily
- Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, Charge Nurses, Resource Nurses, and LPNs, with staffing ratios based on AWHONN standards
- Orientation includes equipment and unit training on the first day; clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates must have prior employment with the organization at least six months prior to submission, if applicable
- The clinician will be expected to assist in staffing vacancies, supporting a dynamic patient care environment
