Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a healthcare facility located in Cortez, Colorado. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The position requires dedication to patient-centered care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate services.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; associate degree required, bachelors degree preferred; current state Registered Nurse Licensure for Colorado (compact license accepted, Colorado license must be obtained within first 90 days); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire; successful completion of EKG course within 4 months of hire; minimum of 1 year labor and delivery or inpatient experience preferred; experience in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation program (NRP), and obstetric emergency procedures preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergency procedures; strong communication and organizational skills; proficient with electronic medical records (EMAR); ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Additional Information: The role involves administering nursing care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum, including responsibilities such as fetal monitoring, epidural administration, and emergency responses. The nurse will assist in procedures, collaborate with physicians, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards. Flexibility with working hours and shifts is expected to meet staffing needs.
