Job Summary Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Location unspecified. This role involves delivering high-risk obstetric care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment supporting a volume of approximately 550 deliveries per month. The nurse will function as a Baby Nurse during delivery and provide ongoing newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
Education & Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting October 19, 2026, through January 18, 2027
Additional Responsibilities: Support high-risk deliveries, function in the role of Baby Nurse, provide newborn assessments, eye care, thigh assessments, and administer injections such as Vit K and Vitamin K.
Floating: Postpartum / Antepartum support, with possibility to float to sister facilities that house Mother/Baby units; floating to NICU or other units within the organization is rare but possible.
Special Equipment: Use of electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) system valued.
Submittal Requirements: Must include response to whether the candidate has worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, on a travel contract, or as registry/per-diem, with location and dates worked. Must submit two references covering one year within the last three years prior to start.
