Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) for a facility located in Florence, Alabama. The role involves working in the Labor and Delivery department with a focus on maternal and neonatal care. This position offers the opportunity to provide critical support during childbirth and postpartum periods in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 p.m. 7 a.m.)
  • Schedule: Weekly guarantee of 48 hours
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, ACLS or ALS-OB, NRP, EFM, BLS certifications; minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or related field; location requirements include Alabama; no minimum experience officially required but typically 3 years preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fetal monitoring and assessment, emergency response, postpartum care, and time management. Skills in fetal monitoring and assessment, emergency response, postpartum care, and time management are highly valued.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be able to start within 7-10 days of offer acceptance. Weekly orientation occurs on Mondays. Block scheduling and a unit with 9 beds are available. The unit primarily cares for adult patient populations with a focus on normal spontaneous labor, preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage. Equipment used includes EHR systems such as Centricity and Meditech. The department values adaptability, team collaboration, attention to detail, stamina, strong communication skills, and empathy.
