Labor & Delivery RN – Akron Campus:

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. Candidates must have strong L&D experience and be comfortable floating between Labor & Delivery and Perinatal units.
Required Certifications:
The following certifications are mandatory:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- STABLE
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program through ACEN or CCNE
- Epic experience within the last 12 months
- Phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months
- Both must be clearly listed on the resume
- Must be willing to float between L&D and Perinatal
- Interview required — candidates must provide their available interview dates/times in the submission comments
Unit Information
- Labor & Delivery: 17 beds, including labor tubs
- Perinatal: 10 beds
- Travelers will float between both units based on department needs
Patient Ratios
- L&D: 1:1 to 1:2
- Perinatal: Average 1:3, may increase to 1:4 depending on patient acuity
Clinical Responsibilities
L&D RNs must be comfortable with both maternal and neonatal care, including:
- Providing comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care
- Caring for patients in the Perinatal unit as assigned
- Performing neonatal sepsis workups
- Administering neonatal IV antibiotics
- Administering neonatal medications
- Monitoring fetal and maternal status
- Utilizing EFM and following established clinical protocols
- Documenting patient care accurately in Epic
- Performing phlebotomy as required
- Floating between units according to staffing and patient-care needs
RTO & Scheduling Requirements
- RTO must be submitted at the time of candidate submission
- Maximum 4 days of RTO allowed
- Candidates requesting more than 4 days of RTO will be automatically rejected
- No RTO is permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Block scheduling requests will not be accepted
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and floating requirements
