Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: California License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Excellent Critical Thinking Skills Fetal monitoring experience C-Section Circulator and Post CS recovery Experience with Vaginal Exams Care of the laboring patient, including C-Section and Vaginal delivery and recovery Care of the high-risk antepartum patient, including gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes Experience with obstetrical emergencies, including OB hemorrhage Care of the newborn within the first hour of life Strong customer service skills Description: This position requires critical skills for conducting vaginal exams and circulating C-Sections. Candidates must possess a California RN license and a resume is required. The labor and delivery unit includes 9 labor delivery rooms and 4 additional beds for triage and outpatient testing. There are 43 staff members including RNs, clinical nurse coordinators, and support staff. Patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3. The unit is equipped with hospital beds, fetal monitors, and operating room equipment and utilizes an EMR system. Candidates should have experience managing labor and delivery, including vaginal exams and outpatient testing.
