The unit has 12 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2. The staffing includes RNs, unit secretaries, and OR techs. The unit is equipped with a documentation system that includes CPN and Meditach. There are specific scheduling requirements including three weekend shifts and one call shift for RNs. RNs are required to float first as part of the floating policy. Patient experience emphasizes shared decision-making. Required skills include care of the laboring patient and care of the newborn immediately after delivery. The types of procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, and epidural anesthesia. The dress code requires scrubs in Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray.
