Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Drive to provide the highest quality of care to laboring patients. Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference. Description: The unit has 9 Labor and Delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, and 2 operating rooms. It accommodates patient ratios of 1-2. The unit staffing includes a dedicated unit secretary, scrub tech, midwife, and CRNA in-house 24/7. Client is on call. The documentation system utilized is CPN and Meditech. Staff is required to work 4 weekend shifts per month. Floating to mother-baby or other departments to assist is part of the policy. The hospital has a requirement for patient experience to remain above 75%. Required certifications include RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring. Dress code consists of hot pink and black uniforms. Healthcare workers are encouraged to dress in hot pink on top and black on the bottom. The unit has received recognition as an HCA Unit of Distinction in 2021. It serves as a pilot hospital for specific quality improvement initiatives. The care model aims to personalize each birth experience to align with patients' desires and needs. Couplet care is practiced in the postpartum unit, allowing newborns to remain close to their mothers to promote breastfeeding.
