Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Requires the ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Will be required to work up to six weekend shifts and holidays as needed. Labor and Delivery nurses provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns. They monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain, and assist with deliveries. They educate families on postpartum recovery.
