Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 0 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Traveler may be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed per department needs. Labor and Delivery nurses provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. They monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain, assist with deliveries, and educate families on postpartum recovery.
