Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $1,858 per week in Richmond, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: Current NRP and BLS required Must-Have: Current Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring experience Labor and Delivery experience within the past 2 years Description: The unit has 16 LDR beds, 3 OR, 3 Triage, and 3 Recovery rooms. The staffing consists of 70 individuals, including a charge nurse and multiple RNs on each shift. Patient ratios are based on AWHONN guidelines, potentially ranging from 1:1 to 3:1 for low acuity cases. Equipment used includes Novii monitors, iMobile, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drapes, deep soaker tubs, light therapy, and aroma therapy. The EMR systems utilized are CPN and Meditech. Typical procedures performed include labor, delivery, recovery, triage, antepartum care, and circulating for C-sections. The first hour of baby care is included, with exceptions for admission assessments. Breastfeeding assistance is provided. The unit supports cultural diversity. Scrub color required is navy blue, and closed shoes are mandatory. Tattoos and piercings should be covered. The unit has continuous in-house staffing, including hospitalists and midwives, as well as anesthesia and neonatologist coverage. Awards include recognition for labor and delivery excellence. The unit has received a rating for superior performance and has achieved five-star ratings for both vaginal and C-section deliveries for multiple years.
