# Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee

Schedule: 4 weekend shifts per month required; patient ratio 1:2; unit operates 24/7 with dedicated CRNA, midwives in-house, and OBGYN on call

Highlights:

• 9-bed Labor & Delivery unit plus 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and 3-bed observation unit
• Laborist team model with 24/7 midwife coverage and dedicated anesthesia support
• Documentation systems include CPN and Meditech; fetal monitoring required
• Advanced procedures: OR circulating, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), nitrous oxide
• HCA Unit of Distinction 2021 recipient and TIPQC Pilot Hospital for NTSV and Team Birth initiatives
• Couplet care model with 8-bed Level 2 NICU supported by 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners

Requirements:

• Active RN license in good standing
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• STABLE and Spinning Babies training preferred but not required
• Commitment to patient-centered care and promoting vaginal birth opportunities
