Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $1,908 per week in Alexandria, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Proficient in starting IVs and drawing labs Ability to interpret fetal strips Proficient in vaginal exams Experience as an OB circulator Description: This position is for a Labor and Delivery RN. The unit has 2 triage rooms and 10 labor rooms. There are 2 operating rooms available. The staffing consists of PRN and full-time nurses. Typical patient ratios are 1:1 or 2:1 depending on acuity. The type of equipment includes fetal monitors, IUPCs, FSE, fluid warmers, IV pumps, and epidural pumps. The electronic medical record system used is CPN and Meditech. Candidates should have excellent time management skills. Empathy, caring, and compassion are essential traits for success in this role. Typical procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placement. This is a closed unit, with rotation every other weekend and possible call duties. Nursing staff are required to wear teal scrubs, while techs wear navy scrubs.
